Laura is a documentary editor based in Los Angeles, CA.

Originally from the Boston area, Laura graduated from Emerson College in 2014 with a Bachelor of the Arts in Film Production, and a concentration in Editing.

Since moving to Los Angeles in 2014, she’s spent the majority of her career thus far working for Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s production company HITRECORD, and while there, developed a deep passion for documentary filmmaking.

She is most passionate about projects that tackle the gray areas of complex issues, seek to promote social or political change, or tell the stories of those whose voices most often go unheard.

Most recently, Laura was honored to be selected as a 2024 WIF Editor Fellow.

Goodridge v. Department of Public Health: 20th Anniversary

In 2003, the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court issued its landmark decision in Goodridge v. Department of Public Health, making MA the first U.S. state to legalize same-sex marriage. This short documentary revisits this turning point in U.S. history, the pushback that occurred, and the national movement to legalize gay marriage that followed, featuring the 14 Goodridge plaintiffs.

In Syria, it is socially unacceptable for women or girls to ride a bicycle. In this short documentary, a young woman leads a movement to normalize women’s use of bicycles in war-torn Damascus, during a time when alternative transportation proves nearly impossible. This short documentary was created as part of a partnership between HITRECORD and Zappos.
